Cool beach on Naval Base Coronado. Was cloudy when we went but so much open beach space, beach equipment rentals and a large parking lot. Will head back and take more pictures when we go and it’s sunny out.
I loved this beach! I plan to return. I love that it is more private than the public beach. I walked there from Building 572 easily. (if you're carrying stuff, maybe you'd want to drive) The beach was clean...no trash!
This is a nice beach. Because it is on base, parking is easier than the other beaches off base in Coronado. There are good waves for boogie boarding and surfing. The water is always a little cold but you get used to it. It is a little walk to the actual beach from the parking lot.
LOVE THIS BEACH!!! I have been to this beach too many times to count now and forever see myself coming here. If I could afford to retire here one day, well then everyone would know where to find me!! If you are fortunate enough to to be able to access the beach beach from base side, it's never crowded and just perfect. Having been on both sides, I do like then both, but with a small child, the less crowded side on the base is the obvious choice. Waves are perfect and if you're someone who's interested in collecting sand dollars, well then come on down because they are endless!!
Excellent beach! Coming from Florida the water is a bit cold for our liking, but it's hands down one of the better beaches in the area.
